Admission Requirements: 

1. Grade 12 or equivalent or mature student status (at least 18 years of age)

2. Language proficiency requirement: English Language proficiency is demonstrated by submitting English 12 with grade C minimum or IELTS score of 6 overall or equivalent.

Learning Objectives: 

At the end of this program student will be able to demonstrate a knowledge of Teaching English as a Second Language to variety go students with various approaches in order to achieve required level in English Language.

This program provides participants with the hands-on experience, theory, and training to become fully qualified English as a Second Language Teachers in Canada.

Program Duration Total Hours:

In class - 100 hours (4-18 weeks)

Practicum - 20 hours (1-2 weeks)

Module 1:

This course focuses on basics of classroom teaching with various methods used in early year’s vs new methods. It also includes standard eight principles of teaching as well as context of learning and teaching ranging across various age levels, proficiency levels as well as across cultural and sociopolitical contexts. This course is fundamental base for teaching in classroom and various methods and approaches. 

Program Duration Hours: 20 hours (1-4 weeks)

Module 2:

This course focuses on basics of practical classroom consideration which includes curriculum and course design, lesson planning, techniques, textbooks and material. It also covers technology in language learning and teaching as well as various methods of creating an interactive classroom for teaching. And learning along with classroom management.

Program Duration Hours: 20 hours (1-4 weeks)

Module 3:

This course focuses teaching language skills such as Grammar, Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. It focuses on various principles and methodologies to teach them at very basic level for all kind of learners.

Total: 40 hours (2-7 weeks)

Module 4:

This course focuses on Principles of Language assessment and issues in language assessment. It will also cover classroom based assessment a well as performance based assessments. This course also covers teacher professional development requirement and ways to get professionally develop at various stages.
